High performance lipstick

      As the founder and CEO of Grunge Factory Cosmetics, I wanted to create the very best lipsticks possible. Being a woman who has spent thousands of dollars over the years on lipsticks, from drugstore brands to the most expensive department store brands, I knew exactly what made a lipstick great. Three crucial elements must combine to make the cut…extraordinary color, superior formulation, and a functional, stylish case! My challenge to create the very best lipsticks began with a world-wide search for just the right colors. Although lipsticks from differing companies may appear to share similar colors, in practice they end up very different!

      For inspiration I studied the art, architecture, and textiles of numerous countries, and over many time periods in history. My focus soon fell upon Italian influence during the Renaissance Era, French influence during the 17th Century, and finally the Roaring 20th Century influence of the US. The rich color pallets I discovered within the interior décor, luxurious fabrics, and fashion of the times were the catalysts for the gorgeous shades I chose for my unique lipstick line. The depth of the hues combined with the rich pigments creates an unbeatable makeup for the lips that is unsurpassed. 

      I then needed to develop these amazing colors into the best lipstick formulation possible that would sustain color while moisturizing, and all in a matte finish. The challenge for this lies in the fact that the more hydration in a lipstick, the more difficult it is to retain the color on the lips. After much research and development, we were able to create a formulation that combines essential oils that heal, hydrate, and protect the lips, while matte ingredients retain the color pigments on the lip surface. We then added a fresh, beautiful scent to enhance the pleasure of application. The last steps were applying the sophisticated Tartan design on the lipstick bullet and packaging it in a sleek, sexy black case with a magnetic top…Voila! Perfect!
